Works just as described, crunches up thick loads of paper easily. The window in the side is really useful for seeing when the basket is full. Because the whole unit is small it’s easy to invert over a paper grocery bag (which I then staple closed) so I have an all-paper package to recycle without the shreds flying around.
One odd feature – if you try to use the machine when it is unplugged it ‘remembers’ and runs when it is plugged in even with no paper.
